My Name

My name is Matthew. The name Matthew comes from the Greek form of the Hebrew name "Mattityahu", meaning "gift of Yahweh".  The name was first given to Matthew(AKA Levi), one of the twelve apostles . He was a tax collector and the author of the New testament and considered a saint. In terms of popularity, the name Matthew is common mostly in Europe and in the United States. For example, Matthew is ranked number 7 for most common names in England and in Ireland. There also many forms the name Matthew takes in different languages. For example, Mateo is Matthew in Spanish.

What I would do if I worked at school

If I had to work at school, I would would be a social studies teacher. The reason why I would become a social studies teacher is because I REALLY like history, (especially American conflicts) it has and is now my strongest subject. Another reason why I would teach history is because I think it is really important to learn about history. The reason I think this is because history is what makes up the modern world, everything that happens today is because of something that happened through history. 

Gratitude List

Im sitting on my couch playing video games, but as the game takes forever to load, but as I'm sitting there bored, I think about what I have to be grateful for.

1. Family, for they are always there, ready to help me with anything.

2. Friends, for they are the ones I spend time and have fun with.

3. My house, there I can feel comfortable, and be myself.

4. The United States, for it gives us an amazing thing called liberty.

5. Our Armed Forces, for they are the ones who protect and preserve our freedom.

6. Aviation, for it inspires me to become a pilot one day.

7. Video games, because if I ever have nothing to do, it will always keep me busy.

8. My health, without it I would not be able to do a lot of things.

9. Baseball, when I play it, I can express my talent.

10. My education, for it will allow me to become someone one day.

Comfort Food

A comfort food I have is Mac and cheese. There are lots of other foods I enjoy, but this one tops all of them by a lot. Ever since I was little I have always enjoyed mac and cheese (this was one of the first foods I started to enjoy). Whenever I eat it, I can't get over that gooey and cheese sensation. There have been times where I have been in a bad mood, but after eating the mac and cheese, I felt fine.

Childhood Favorite

A childhood favorite that I have is lego sets. Before video games and other hobbies I have today, legos were my life. Everyday I would play with them for hours and hours on end. It all started when I was 4 years old, I had just gotten into Star Wars, so my first lego set was an Star Wars lego set. After that I just kept getting more and more sets of legos, and after more practice building them, I would build bigger and bigger sets. I still have lots of lego sets, one lego set I built when I was 8 years old is still sitting on my shelve.

In 10 years...

In 10 years I see myself walking straight out of Navy basic training. I want to be in the military because my family has had a long history in the military, my family has fought for the U.S. since the Revolution. I also have always had an interest in our countries Armed Forces and the privileges it can give to you. For example, you get to do a lot of things you would not normally be able to do (fly fighter jets, travel to exotic places, etc.) Another reason i want to be in the military is so I can become a pilot. I feel like joining the military will not only give me the chance to be a pilot, but to serve my country as well. 

                  This quote said by Five-Star General Douglas MacArthur means is that you can't tell someone to do something that is completely unreasonable and out of their power. The reason I chose this quote is because I REALLY don't like it (I am sure no one else likes this either) when people tell me to do things that are completely out of my reach.
